Thalia is one of the nine muses in Greek mythology. She is the muse of comic poetry and entertainment. Later, Thalia was generally regarded as the protector of all theater venues. Her signs, with which she is represented or described, are the comic mask, the wreath of ivy and the shepherd's crook.
Zeus turned into eagles and took Thalia as his wife. Terrified by Hera's jealousy, Thalia disappeared into the bowels of the earth, where she gave birth to demonic beings.
